Dive into the hidden world beneath the surface of North Georgia’s clear, cool streams! Join us for a unique freshwater snorkeling experience at Duke's Creek in the beautiful Smithgall Woods State Park, where participants will explore the incredible diversity of native fish species up close.
Using both snorkeling and seine netting techniques, we’ll observe and identify a variety of colorful darters, energetic shiners, and other fascinating freshwater fish that call these Appalachian waters home. This hands-on program highlights the importance of healthy aquatic habitats and gives participants a rare look at the vibrant life often overlooked just beneath the surface.
We will have a rain date for this program on August 1st, 2025.
