The Georgia Bat Working Group with assistance from Habitat for Bats is hosting a Bat House Installation Workshop on Friday, December 1st at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, GA. The workshop is designed for Nuisance Wildlife Control Companies, consultants and other individuals interested in learning to install bat houses for customers on their property to assist with nuisance bat mitigation or to provide native wildlife habitat. We will begin promptly at 9 am with a classroom presentation about the basics of bat houses, siting, and installation. We will install two different types of bat houses and installation options at the park during the second half of the workshop. Participants should gain the knowledge to determine what areas are suitable for bat house installation, what specifications are best for constructing bat houses, different options for purchasing houses, equipment needed for building and installation and techniques for successful bat house installation.
